How did you find out about the Empires and their music? When did you become a fan? How many times have you listened to Howl since then?

Ok, since everyone seems so reluctant to say anything, I'll start with my little story.
A while back a couple of my friends thought that I should be introduced to a friend of theirs who was my age and was always talking about the same bands I was. So me, this woman and one of her friends went to a Cobra Starship concert together as a way of meeting each other. On the way there they made me listen to Howl and told me the story about the band, or what they knew of it. The music intrigued me enough - maybe because it did have the alternative sound to it but it was also its own thing, and the style of the songs was less monotonous than in the average 1 band album - that I remembered the name and downloaded the album myself when I got home.
As it turns out my friendship with this person did not go anywhere beside that one concert. She was really in and out of my life very quickly and the only thing memorable about this encounter is that I am now a fan of Empires. It figures.

Short story I adored Tom in TAI and was pretty bummed when he left. I heard rumors he was starting/started a new band and I decided to give them a shot. I used to live in IL and poo on you Tom for starting a band I'd drive 5 hours to see AFTER I move to Washington. Anyway I heard the demos on myspace and became a wee bit obsessed. I love Sean's vocals and the music was fantastic and I've loved them since I first heard them. Since then I started a tumblr group called Empires Fans and Tambourine Enthusiasts and a Buzznet group (though that one gets no real posts and I don't frequent the site anymore really). Edit to add that I work 8 hour shifts at a bookstore all alone and typically listen to howl on repeat most days. I may change it out for a CD length but then put it back in. It is one of the only cds I have ever been able to do that with.

Oh hey I'm finding you everywhere. Anyways my story, I'm not going to bother to tell it. No one ever believes me. Lemme just tell you this, Tom is one of the best people to look up to, at least in my case. Seriously, you can learn so much from him, I have. The guys are amazing, and I'm blessed enough to live in Chicago to see them multiple times a month.

I was never a big TAI fan.
I first heard of them when they were in the AP, and I usually never even look up bands but I did for them, and since then I've been hooked. I guess it was fate.

It was right after they release Howl online for download. A friend of mine told me that I really needed to give their music a listen. I did and have been a fan since that day!

Anyways my story, I'm not going to bother to tell it. I can't talk for everyone but I promise I'll believe you. Of course, if it's something too personal you don't have to share. It's up to you.

A now ex-boyfriend introduced me to Empires in the beginning of 2009, when he put 'Under The Bright Lights' on a mixtape for me. I really dug the sound, he gave me the site link, and I've been a big fan ever since. The end~
