A quick recap from last night at the Canopy Club. The setlist, not necessarily in the right order: I Want Blood, Damn Things Over, Spit the Dark, Hello Lover, I Don't Wanna Find You (whatever the official name for that is), Midnight Land, and they ended with Bang. I may forget a song. It was only half an hour but it was good. This is one of their best concerts I've seen so far in terms of both music and performance. Sean's voice was right on - even Simon Cowell would have been happy with him. They've also done some new things in the arrangements for the old songs, at least new to me. They've probably played them so many times that they are now playing with them. One thing I noticed is that Sean kept his eyes opened this time almost through the entire thing. Of course the closed eyes thing he was doing before was sexy and all, but this feels more personal. Like he wants to see us too, not just perform for us. Talking about personal, he even pointed at people in the audience for "I want blood from you" and "I'm dying to touch you". So cute. Oh, and whatever he's doing with his eyes on I Want Blood, it was borderline scary - he's on to something with that. They could make a clip for that song with a story and all. Gold Motel that played after them were decent, but the Empires clearly had a lot more support in the room. Ironically the best reaction GM got from the crowd was when they asked if we liked the Empires Funny that both me and a couple of people behind me heard "do you like vampires?" I didn't talk to them after the show because I thought I'd give a chance to the people who might not have seen them before first. By the time the table cleared, Gold Motel had started and it seemed rude to talk shop with one band while another one was playing given that the place was so small. But Ryan told me that he liked my tshirt <3 - it was the baby blue one with the red logo. He was such a sweetie - he went around cheering everyone up, talking to fans, making jokes. A good-natured guy. I like Tom's new look, the longer hair and stubble suit him well. I was not impressed with Sean's new hair color in pics I've seen before, but IRL it looks good. That's about it I think. I took some pics myself but they are not good - I may show a couple later.

I really wish I lived in Chicago, so I could see them. I was suppose to be in TN right now but something came up at the last second. (as always)
